Why Choose Us

Built for Serious Flexo & Gravure Operations

Every design decision — from tank geometry to transducer frequency — is optimised for anilox cell cleaning, not generic industrial washing.

🔬

Deep Ultrasonic Cavitation

40 kHz transducers create cavitation bubbles that implode inside each cell, lifting dried ink from the deepest engravings without any abrasion.

⏱️

5–20 Min Full Cycle

Ultrasonic soak, high-pressure rinse and air dry complete in under 25 minutes — your anilox roller returns to press the same shift.

🌿

Minimal Chemistry

Ultrasonic action does the work. Detergent usage is 80% lower than manual or spray methods — reducing cost and waste disposal requirements.

🎯

Consistent Ink Transfer

Fully restored BCM means repeatable ink film weight every run — eliminating density variation, colour shift and press approval waste.

📏

Custom Roller Sizes

9 standard models from 320 to 1,800 mm. Non-standard lengths, diameters and journal configurations available on request.

🛡️

Safe for All Anilox Types

Validated for ceramic laser-engraved and chrome-mechanically-engraved rollers. No effect on cell geometry or doctor blade land area.

Process

4-Stage Cleaning Process

From dirty roller to press-ready in one automated cycle.

1

Load & Submerge

Roller placed in heated solution. Temperature 40–80 °C matched to ink chemistry.

2

Ultrasonic Soak

40 kHz transducers generate cavitation inside every cell simultaneously across the full roller length.

3

High-Pressure Rinse

Adjustable nozzles flush loosened residue from cells, land area and journal faces.

4

Air Dry & Done

Integrated air blow-off leaves the roller dry and ready for immediate reinstallation.

Troubleshooting

Is Your Anilox Roller the Root Cause?

Many press defects blamed on ink, plates or settings are caused by plugged anilox cells. Identify the real issue before the next job approval.

Uneven Solid Ink Density
Partial cell plugging creates inconsistent BCM across the roller face — some zones transfer more ink than others.
Full ultrasonic clean restores uniform cell volume across the entire width.
Light Streaks or Washout Bands
Axial bands of heavily plugged cells caused by dried ink at the doctor blade zone or localised UV residue.
60–70 °C ultrasonic soak + high-pressure rinse. Check doctor blade pressure post-clean.
Colour Shift Between Jobs
Previous job ink dried inside cells contaminating new colour — a "ghost" colour problem common with UV and pigment-heavy inks.
Between-job ultrasonic clean with chemistry matched to the previous ink type.
Pinhole Voids in Solid Areas
High-LPI cells (800–1,400) are too fine for mechanical brushing. Micro-plugs block ink release and leave voids.
Ultrasonic is the only safe method for high-LPI rollers — abrasion damages cell walls.
Excessive Ink Consumption
Plugged cells force higher viscosity or slower press speed to compensate for reduced transfer, increasing ink usage.
Restored BCM eliminates the root cause. Expect 10–25% ink savings vs. plugged rollers.
Accelerated Doctor Blade Wear
Dried ink deposits on the anilox land area act as an abrasive against the doctor blade, causing scoring.
Pre-shift ultrasonic cleaning removes surface deposits and extends blade life up to 40%.
Best Practice

Recommended Cleaning Schedule

A structured four-tier programme protects your anilox investment and maintains print quality across all shifts.

After Every Run

Post-Press Quick Clean

  • Wipe with approved pad while cells are still wet
  • Apply solution before ink dries — critical for UV inks
  • Remove from press if idle >30 minutes
Weekly

Ultrasonic Deep Clean

  • Full 15–20 min ultrasonic cycle for all rollers
  • High-pressure rinse + air blow-off
  • UV light inspection for residual plugging
  • Log roller ID, date and condition
Monthly

BCM Audit

  • Measure BCM on all rollers (Capatch or microscope)
  • Flag rollers below 85% original BCM
  • Inspect ceramic for scoring or wear zones
  • Update inventory condition log
Annually

Full Inventory Review

  • Professional BCM measurement across fleet
  • Identify rollers for resurfacing vs. replacement
  • Service transducers and heating elements
  • Staff refresher on cleaning procedures

UV ink operations: deep-clean every 2–3 days. Water-based corrugated: bi-weekly. The cost of cleaning is always less than a rejected job.

Technical Knowledge

Cell Geometry & Cleaning Parameters

Cell geometry determines which cleaning settings deliver the best results. Our machines are configurable to match any anilox specification.

Most Common

60° Hexagonal

Industry standard. Laser-engraved. Thinner walls, larger opening, 3-point post. Optimal for 40 kHz ultrasonic. 200–1,400 LPI.

Legacy Chrome

45° Diamond

Mechanically-engraved. Deeper walls and 4-point post trap ink at corners. Needs 15–20 min at 65–70 °C for dried solvent inks.

Coatings / Adhesives

Channel / Elongated

High-volume for viscous fluids. Larger aperture-to-depth ratio — easier to clean but requires correct nozzle pressure.

UV Varnish / Label

Tri-Helical / Ladder

High-speed UV coating transfer. Good ink release. Standard 40 kHz at 10–15 min sufficient for routine maintenance.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything buyers ask before purchasing an anilox roller cleaning machine.

What is an anilox roller cleaning machine?
An anilox roller cleaning machine uses ultrasonic cavitation, high-pressure spray or laser energy to remove dried ink, coatings and adhesive residues from the microscopic cells of anilox rollers. Regular cleaning restores cell volume (BCM), ensuring consistent ink transfer and reliable print quality every run.
How does ultrasonic cleaning compare to laser cleaning?
Ultrasonic cleaning uses cavitation bubbles in heated liquid to dislodge ink — ideal for daily/weekly maintenance, cost-effective and safe for all roller types. Laser cleaning vaporises ink residues without liquid or chemistry, better suited for deep restoration of heavily plugged rollers. Our machines cover both routine and deep-clean applications through adjustable frequency and temperature.
Which ink types can it clean?
All ink chemistries — water-based, UV-curable, solvent-based, flexographic and gravure inks. Adjustable temperature (20–100 °C) and chemistry selection allows you to optimise the cycle for each ink type and contamination level.
Will ultrasonic cleaning damage my anilox cells?
No. Unlike abrasive methods (baking soda blasting, plastic bead systems or manual brushing), ultrasonic cavitation is a non-contact process. Validated testing shows no measurable change to cell volume, geometry or ceramic surface finish even after hundreds of cleaning cycles.
How long does a complete cleaning cycle take?
5–20 minutes ultrasonic soak + 2–5 minutes rinse + 1–3 minutes air blow-off = press-ready in under 25 minutes total. Heavily plugged rollers with dried UV ink may require a second 20-minute cycle at 70 °C.
Can I get a custom machine for non-standard roller dimensions?
Yes. All machines are custom-built. Provide roller length, maximum diameter, journal length and roller weight and we will configure the tank, lifting system and transducer array accordingly. Contact us with your specifications for a quote.
What certifications does the machine hold?
CE marked and manufactured under ISO 9001:2015. All electrical components comply with international safety standards. CE declaration of conformity is provided with every shipment.
